Women's Cross Country Finishes Strong at State Meet

The Ballard women's cross country team wrapped up its season with a solid showing at the 2025 State Cross Country Championships on Friday at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge. The Bombers placed 14th overall in a deep and talented Class 3A field, closing out a season filled with steady progress and competitive performances.
Leading the way for the Bombers was Avilee Miller, who finished 37th overall with a time of 19:45.6, pacing the team with a strong and consistent race. Honorine Jorgensen was close behind, placing 46th in 19:56.5, giving the Bombers two runners inside the top 50.
Rounding out the scoring for Ballard were Raya Miller (84th, 20:55.7), Nora Showman (110th, 21:45.9), and Kaitlyn Dunn (117th, 21:58.0). Sydney Sage (122nd, 22:07.1) and Grace Grundmeyer (123rd, 22:23.9) also contributed to the team's effort.
The state meet appearance marked the culmination of another successful season for the Bombers, who continue to build on their tradition of hard work, teamwork, and competitive excellence in cross country.
