Comments From Head Coach Scott Barth:
"It was an odd week for us on both teams as we had several athletes battling injuries and illness. This led to the decision to taper back training and several athletes did not compete in the meets held on Saturday and Monday.
On the girls side, Ava Vance continued to run really well and finished 20th (medalist) at the Heartland Classic in a time of 20:05. Ava Richardson also ran well in the same meet with a time of 21:11. The promising freshmen trio of Raya Miller, Kya Hermann and Grace Grundmeyer gained valuable experience against the same tough competition timing 22:16 for Raya and 22:40 for both Kya and Grace. McKenzie Dee gutted out a tough race on some minor injuries finishing with a time of 23:46.
The other girls ran on Monday at ADM. Leading that pack were Katie Tollefson and Nora Loveland who both clocked in the 23's. Next came Harper Wendt, Natalie Kruse and Anya Jorgensen in the 24's which closed out the scoring. This was a challenge for these girls as it gave them a chance to bump up into the varsity competition and they performed well."
