Comments From Head Coach Scott Barth:
"The girls ran away with the RRC conference championship totaling 47 points in the process. This was an extremely tough meet with 5 of the competing 7 teams being ranked in the state class 3A top 20 and 4 of those in the state top 10. Anytime you can compete in a loaded field like this and win, you have to be pleased and I am proud of the way the girls ran. Paityn Noe finished first in being crowned RRC champ. Ava Vance and Annika Larson placed 3rd and 4th to get us off to a very good start. Ava Richardson and Brynn Wilson nabbed the 17th and 22nd places to cement the victory over 2nd place and #4 ranked ADM. McKenzie Dee and Raegan Loewe came through in 27th and 29th place to round out our varsity.
In looking over the results, I think it was a solid effort but a mixed bag overall in terms of being at our best. Paityn continued with her typical steady performance in a very controlled race from beginning to end. Ava Vance ran her best race of the season finishing in a time of 19:53 on a tough course. Her confidence is building right now and I am excited to see what she can do. Annika Larson ran well, but was not in her typical form of late. I know she has more to give in the next two weeks of the season. Ava Richardson and Brynn Wilson also ran solid races, but will make a jump forward with the remaining two weeks of training. McKenzie Dee and Raegan Loewe suffered from a slow start in the race, but clawed their way back in the race, showing that they will make moves as well by state meet. I would love to see them get out faster next time out. So, I am pleased with the results and we did well, but I know we have more to give and will be looking forward to putting it all together next week at SQM Pella."
The Bombers are back in action on Wednesday - October 19 when they compete in the State Qualifying Meet in Pella. The meet will start at 4:00 PM.
