Bombers Battle Through Knoxville Tournament
Ballard Goes 3-2 On The Day
Knoxville, IA — The Ballard volleyball team turned in another strong showing on Saturday at the Knoxville Tournament, going 3–2 on the day and continuing to build momentum heading into postseason play.
The Bombers opened pool play with a pair of hard-fought three-set battles, falling to Pella Christian (8–21, 21–11, 15–12) and No. 6 Union (19–21, 24–22, 15–13) in tightly contested matches that showcased Ballard's resilience against high-level competition.
From there, the Bombers regrouped and dominated the remainder of the day, sweeping three straight opponents. The Bombers rolled past Decorah (21–16, 21–16), handled Albia (21–10, 21–7), and closed the tournament with another win over Decorah (21–17, 21–6) to finish with a 3–2 record on the day.
With Saturday's performance, Ballard improves to 25–10 (8–0).
Next up, the Bombers will turn its focus to the postseason, where they will host a regional semifinal on Thursday, October 23, at 7:00 PM in The Hangar against the winner of Nevada and Boone.
The Bombers look to carry their tournament momentum into the regional matchup as they begin their push toward a state tournament berth.
