Ballard Volleyball Shines at Indianola Tournament
Ballard Goes 4-1 On The Day
The Ballard volleyball team turned in an impressive performance on Saturday at the Indianola Tournament, going 4-1 on the day and advancing to the championship match before falling in a hard-fought three-set battle to Class 5A No. 12 Indianola.
The Bombers opened the tournament with a dominant 21-8, 21-12 victory over Fort Dodge, followed by a convincing 21-14, 21-15 win against Cedar Rapids Kennedy. Ballard continued its strong play with a 21-18, 21-17 triumph over Glenwood and capped pool play by taking down Class 3A No. 15 Clarinda in straight sets, 25-22, 25-22.
In the championship match, Ballard went toe-to-toe with the host Indianola squad, rallying to win the second set but ultimately falling 14-25, 25-19, 15-13 in a thrilling finish.
With the successful tournament run, Ballard improves to 20-8 overall and remains undefeated in conference play (6-0).
The Bombers return to action on Tuesday, October 14, when they travel to Gilbert for a key Raccoon River Conference matchup beginning at 5:30 PM.
