Bombers Go 1-3 On The Day
GRINNELL, IA — The Ballard Bombers volleyball team faced tough competition over the weekend at the Grinnell Tournament, walking away with one win and three hard-fought losses. Despite the challenging matches, the Bombers showcased their resilience and competitive spirit throughout the day.
Match Results:
vs. Iowa City West: The Bombers opened the tournament against a formidable Iowa City West team, falling in straight sets, 21-10, 21-15.
vs. #8 West Liberty: Ballard then took on the 8th-ranked West Liberty, where they again fell short, losing 21-14, 21-13 in another straight-set match.
vs. South Tama: The Bombers found their stride in the third match of the day, defeating South Tama in convincing fashion, 21-13, 21-6. The team played with energy and precision, securing their only victory of the tournament.
vs. Dallas Center-Grimes: In their final match, Ballard faced off against Dallas Center-Grimes. The Bombers took the first set 21-19 but were unable to maintain the momentum, dropping the next two sets 21-15 and 15-5, resulting in a 2-1 loss.
