Women’s Tennis Sweeps Trojans
Ballard Defeats South Tama 9-0
The Ballard women's tennis team turned in a dominant performance Monday night, shutting out South Tama 9–0 in front of the home crowd. The Bombers controlled play from start to finish, winning every match in straight sets.
In singles play, Ballard wasted no time setting the tone. Addy Agena opened with a strong 6–3, 6–0 victory at the top spot, followed by Zoe Wilson's convincing 6–0, 6–1 win at No. 2. Anja Tjernagel and Siene Roush both recorded flawless 6–0, 6–0 sweeps at the third and fourth positions, while Reagan Remsburg matched the effort with a 6–0, 6–0 win at No. 5. Rounding out singles, Josie Oldenkamp cruised to a 6–0, 6–1 win.
The Bombers carried that momentum into doubles action. Agena and Wilson teamed up at the No. 1 spot for a commanding 6–0, 6–0 victory. At No. 2, Remsburg and Oldenkamp duplicated the feat with a clean 6–0, 6–0 sweep. In the final doubles match, Tjernagel partnered with Madeline Schonhorst for a 6–3, 6–0 win, sealing the shutout.
With the win, Ballard improves to 8–4 on the season. The Bombers are back in action Thursday, September 11, when they travel to Boone for a 4:15 PM start.
