Women's Soccer Narrowly Falls to Cardinals
Newton Defeats Ballard 3-2
NEWTON, IA – The Ballard women's soccer team battled hard on the road Thursday but came up just short, losing to Newton 3-2. Despite a strong performance, the Bombers were unable to secure their first win of the season, dropping to a 0-5 record (0-1 in conference play).
Newton took the early lead and held on throughout the match, but Ballard's resilience kept the game close. Grace Grundmeyer had an impressive performance for the Bombers, contributing both a goal and an assist. McKenzie Dee also played a crucial role, registering four shots and one shot on goal.
In goal, Evelyn Faubus made seven saves, recording a 70% save percentage, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Cardinals from scoring three times.
