Tigers Top Bombers in RRC Soccer
#10 Gilbert Defeats Ballard 4-0
GILBERT – The Ballard women's soccer team faced a tall task Thursday night, squaring off against Class 1A No. 10-ranked Gilbert in their Raccoon River Conference opener. Despite a determined defensive effort, the Bombers fell 4-0 to the Tigers.
Ballard managed to keep the game tight through the opening half, holding Gilbert to just one goal over the first 40 minutes. The back line, anchored by a gritty defensive unit and strong goalkeeping, made life difficult for the Tigers' attack early on.
However, Gilbert's offensive pressure wore down the Bombers in the second half, netting three more goals to pull away and secure the win. Ballard struggled to generate scoring opportunities against a disciplined and physical Gilbert defense.
With the loss, the Bombers drop to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in RRC play.
