Wrestlers Earn Two Dual Wins at Iowa Falls-Alden Quad
Ballard Goes 2-1 On The Day
The Ballard men's wrestling team competed at the Iowa Falls-Alden Quad on Thursday night, earning dual victories over East Marshall and St. Edmond while dropping a narrow decision to the host Cadets.
Ballard opened the night with a dominant 63–6 win over East Marshall/Meskwaki. The Bombers controlled the dual throughout, picking up bonus points in 11 of the 13 contested matches. Nolan Adams (120) and Owen Davidson (126) each earned technical fall victories, while Easton Enyeart (132), Grayson Hedrick (138), Kyle Rhiner (144), Landon Askelsen (157), and Carter Dietrich (285) all recorded pins. Additional wins by forfeit came from Carter Jeffs (150), Jayden Leland (165), Lincoln Engleman (175), and Leif Jorgensen (215).
Ballard then faced Iowa Falls-Alden in a tightly contested dual that came down to the final bouts, with the Cadets edging the Bombers 39–36. Enyeart and Hedrick continued strong nights with first-period pins, while Jeffs (150), Leland (165), and Jorgensen (215) also secured falls for Ballard. Greyson Ehresman added six team points with a forfeit at 190 pounds. Despite the close loss, Ballard remained competitive throughout the dual.
The Bombers closed the quad with a convincing 66–18 victory over St. Edmond. Adams, Davidson, Enyeart, and Askelsen all recorded quick pins, while Dietrich capped the dual with a fall at heavyweight. Ballard again benefited from multiple forfeits, allowing the Bombers to build a commanding team score.
Following the quad, Ballard's record stands at 6–17 overall and 2–6 in conference action.
The Bombers will next host the District Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, February 14, with competition beginning at 10:00 AM.
