The Ballard men's wrestling team hosted the Winterset Huskies in a hard-fought conference dual at the Hangar on Thursday night.  Despite a valiant effort and several standout performances, the Bombers came up short, falling 43-31.  The defeat moves Ballard's record to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the Raccoon River Conference (RRC).

The evening saw a mix of thrilling victories and tough losses.  Easton Enyeart (120 lbs) set the tone for Ballard with an impressive fall in just 1:17.  Jayden Leland (150 lbs) and Tucker Vitzthum (165 lbs) also delivered quick pins, showcasing their dominance on the mat with falls in 45 seconds and 33 seconds, respectively.  Rhett Hedrick (190 lbs) added another win for the Bombers, pinning his opponent in 53 seconds.

Jacob Harrison (138 lbs) displayed technical prowess with a commanding 14-4 major decision, and Jackson Wacha (215 lbs) closed out Ballard's victories with a solid 9-2 decision.

However, the Huskies proved to be formidable opponents, with key wins that included five falls, two technical falls, and a major decision.  Winterset's Jax Jensen (157 lbs) and Kline Kiburz (106 lbs) were among the standout performers for the visitors, contributing significantly to their team's victory.

Up next, the Bombers will shift their focus to the Waukee NW Tournament on Saturday, December 21, starting at 10:00 AM.
