The Ballard men's wrestling team opened their season in dominant fashion at the Roland-Story Double Dual, earning two commanding victories.  Ballard defeated Roland-Story 73-3 and followed it up with a 56-17 win over Gilbert.  The Bombers showcased their strength on the mat with 21 wins by fall across the two duals.

Notable performances included Tony Horness (132), who pinned both of his opponents, and Carter Jeffs (144), who secured a pin against Roland-Story and a technical fall (21-5) over Gilbert.  Rhett Hedrick (190) also had a stellar evening with a 35-second fall over Roland-Story and a technical fall (21-6) against Gilbert.  Tucker Vitzthum (165) delivered one of the night's fastest pins, finishing Roland-Story's Tyler Lambert in just 59 seconds, while Jackson Wacha (215) pinned Gilbert's Easton Crawford in a quick 42 seconds.  Nolan Adams (113) also impressed with a pair of dominant falls, including a 44-second pin over Gilbert.

With these wins, the Bombers start the season 2-0 overall and 1-0 in conference action.

Up next, Ballard heads to the Newton Tournament on Saturday, December 7, at 9:00 AM.
