Women’s Golf Claims Third at RRC Tournament
Ballard Shoots A 395
The Ballard Bombers women's golf turned in a strong performance Monday at the Raccoon River Conference Tournament hosted at Carroll National Golf Course, finishing third overall in the eight-team field with a team score of 395.
Gilbert captured the conference title with a 314, followed by ADM at 389. Ballard edged out Carlisle (404) and Winterset (406) to secure a top-three finish in one of the conference's premier events of the season.
Senior Maddie Baltes led the way for the Bombers with an outstanding round of 91, earning an eighth-place finish individually among the 48 golfers competing at the tournament. Baltes was consistent throughout the day and paced Ballard against a competitive conference field.
Sophomore Kallie Fulkerson added a solid score of 100 to place 14th overall, while sophomore Olivia Holsapple carded a 101 to finish tied for 15th. Freshman Audrey Baltes contributed a 103 and finished 19th individually, giving the Bombers four golfers inside the top 20.
Sophomore Cora Bohlen rounded out Ballard's scoring golfers with a 109, while freshman Kendra Evans added a 115 in tournament play.
The Bombers will return to the course Monday, May 18, when they host North Polk and Bondurant-Farrar at 4:00 PM for Senior Night.
