Cold Weather Moves Game Up as Bombers Visit Comets
#8 North Polk Defeats Ballard 51-35
The Ballard women's basketball team made the trip to North Polk on Thursday night for an RRC contest that was moved up a day due to extreme cold temperatures expected on Friday.
Ballard stayed competitive early, trailing just 13–12 after the opening quarter. North Polk was able to create separation in the second period, outscoring the Bombers 13–6 to take a 26–18 lead into halftime. The Comets continued to build momentum in the third quarter, extending the margin behind a 14–7 advantage.
Ballard continued to battle in the final frame, matching North Polk's intensity with a 10-point fourth quarter, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome as North Polk secured the 51–35 RRC victory.
With the loss, Ballard moves to 5–11 overall and 4–7 in RRC play.
The Bombers will look to bounce back on Tuesday, January 27, when they return home to host RRC opponent #5 Carlisle. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
