Bombers Fall to Warriors in Tough Road Test
#3 Norwalk Defeats Ballard 70-34
The Ballard women's basketball team faced a tall challenge Tuesday night, traveling to #3 Norwalk and falling 70–34 despite a strong fourth-quarter push.
Norwalk set the tone early, jumping out to a 16–4 lead after one and extending the margin to 45–13 by halftime. The Bombers continued to battle, outscoring the Warriors 15–9 in the fourth quarter to finish the night on a positive surge.
Sophomore Kaylor Johnson anchored the Bombers with an all-around performance, scoring 6 points while pulling down 8 rebounds and adding 2 blocks, 1 steal, and 2 assists. Fellow sophomore Maci Harder also finished with 6 points, going a perfect 2-for-2 at the free-throw line.
Freshman Avilee Miller made the most of her minutes, knocking down a pair of threes on her way to 6 points, while Kaitlyn Dunn chipped in 5 points on efficient shooting.
Sophomore Olivia Wacha, freshman Brooklyn Shoen, freshman Alea Kinzenbaw, freshman Kinsey Calvert, and freshman Grace Polewik all added scoring as Ballard continued to develop its young rotation.
Ballard moves to 0–3 (0–0 RRC) and now shifts focus to conference play. The Bombers travel to Bondurant-Farrar on Friday, December 5, with tipoff set for 6:00 PM in the RRC opener.
