Bombers Fall Behind Early in Defeat
Clear Lake Defeat Ballard 53-30
The Ballard women's basketball team faced a tough road challenge on Tuesday at Clear Lake, coming up short in a 53-30 defeat. Despite strong effort, the Bombers struggled to find offensive consistency against a disciplined opponent.
Ballard shot just 18.2% from the field (10-of-55) and 5.6% from three-point range (1-of-18). Olivia Wacha led the team with 5 points and 9 rebounds, while Kaylor Johnson added 9 points and 9 boards. Freshman Kaitlyn Dunn contributed 4 points, and Alea Kinzenbaw also scored 4 points with a perfect 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.
Clear Lake built an early lead and maintained control throughout, outscoring Ballard 21-11 in the first half and keeping the momentum in the second. The Bombers grabbed 43 rebounds but struggled with turnovers (19) and shooting woes, limiting their chances for a comeback.
The Bombers, now 0-2 on the season, will look to bounce back when they travel to face #3 Norwalk on Tuesday at 4:30 PM.
