Women's Basketball Falls to #3 Wolves
#3 Waukee Northwest Defeats Ballard 68-24
WAUKEE, IA – The Ballard women's basketball team faced a tough challenge on Tuesday night, taking on Class 5A No. 3-ranked Waukee Northwest in a non-conference matchup. The host Wolves showcased their dominance from the start, handing the Bombers a 68-24 defeat.
Ballard struggled to keep pace with Waukee Northwest's high-powered offense and suffocating defense. The Wolves jumped out to an 18-7 lead in the first quarter and extended their advantage to 39-16 by halftime. The Bombers managed just eight total points in the second half as Northwest continued to apply pressure on both ends of the court.
With the loss, Ballard drops to 5-15 overall (4-11 in conference play) as they prepare to close out the regular season.
Ballard returns home on Friday, February 14, to host Winterset in the regular season finale. Tip-off is set for 6:00 PM as the Bombers look to finish strong before postseason play begins.
