Bombers Drop Game To Huskies
Winterset Defeats Ballard 44-34
In a competitive Raccoon River Conference showdown, the Winterset Huskies defended their home court with a 44-34 victory over the Bombers. The Huskies' consistent play on both ends of the floor proved too much for the Bombers, who fall to 2-10 overall and 1-7 in conference play. Winterset set the tone early, narrowly outscoring Ballard 11-10 in the first quarter. The Bombers showed flashes of strong defense but struggled to generate offense in the second quarter, managing only two points as the Huskies extended their lead to 22-12 at halftime.
After regrouping in the locker room, the Bombers came out with more energy in the third quarter, scoring 12 points. However, Winterset answered with 14 of their own, maintaining a steady lead heading into the final frame. Despite an improved effort from Ballard in the fourth, Winterset's balanced attack and ability to convert on key possessions sealed the victory.
The Bombers will look to bounce back in their next game, scheduled for Friday, January 17, at Bondurant-Farrar with a 6:00 PM tip-off.
