#4 Warriors Overpower Bombers in Non-Conf. Matchup
#4 Norwalk Defeats Ballard 69-34
The women's basketball team faced a tough challenge on Tuesday night, hosting the #4-ranked Norwalk Warriors at the Hangar. Despite their best efforts, the Bombers fell 69-34 in a game that showcased Norwalk's offensive firepower and defensive strength. The Warriors dominated early, scoring 25 points in the first quarter to Ballard's eight and extending their lead to 46-16 by halftime. Although Ballard showed determination in the second half, including a 10-point third quarter, the deficit was too large to overcome.
Offensively, Ballard struggled to find consistency, shooting 32.5% from the field and 28.6% from three-point range. The team committed 25 turnovers, which Norwalk capitalized on throughout the game. Senior Raegan Loewe led the Bombers with 10 points, including two three-pointers, while contributing three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Freshman Olivia Wacha added six points and tied for the team lead with five rebounds, while fellow freshman Kaylor Johnson also scored six points and grabbed five boards, shooting an efficient 66.7% from the field. Freshman Maci Harder chipped in five points and was perfect from the free-throw line.
With the loss, the Bombers drop to 1-2 overall (0-0 conference) on the season.
The Bombers will begin conference play on Friday, December 6, when they host rival Bondurant-Farrar. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
