Ballard sophomore Austin Vance represented the Bombers at the 2025 State Boys Cross Country Championships on Friday at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge, finishing 101st overall with a time of 17:48.0 in a highly competitive Class 3A field.

The race featured some of the best programs in the state, with Gilbert capturing the team title followed by Mount Vernon-Lisbon and Pella.  Despite the deep competition, Vance ran a composed and determined race, gaining valuable experience for the seasons ahead.

With two seasons remaining, Vance's performance at state highlights his potential to be a key leader for the Bombers in the coming years as Ballard continues to build a strong tradition in cross country.
