Comments From Women's Head Coach Scott Barth:
"Overall it was a good night for us on the track. It was nice to get out and compete to get the baseline on this season. We showed promise in many events and with the return of some athletes that missed this meet, we should be competing at even higher levels in the meets to come. I am proud of our efforts and attitudes."
The men would finish fifth overall scoring 54 team points. Blake Stover would finish third in the long jump with a best of 19'11". Jayden Swain finished fourth in the long jump with a jump of 19'8". Jameson Witt won the 400 M dash with a winning time of 52.68.
The 4x200 relay team of Swain, Chance Lande, Stover, and Eli Rouse ran in a time of 1:36.53 to finish second. The 4x400 relay team (Lande, Jakson Fleischmann, Rouse, and Witt) finished second running in a time of 3:43.69. The sprint medley squad of Eric Sydnes, Swain, Stover, and Witt finished third in a time of 1:41.92.
Comments From Men's Head Coach Darren Herrold:
"The weather cooperated, and we were able to have our first track meet of the season. I am very pleased with our effort and results from Monday evening. The team finishing 5th out of 11 teams was great to see. We had several athletes that achieved a personal best, and our relays ran smoothly. It was a great team effort, and our athlete's attitude and determination is paying off for them. Hopefully the weather will cooperate as the season progresses."
