Tennis Edges Indians in Tight Road Win
Ballard Defeats Indianola 6-5
The Ballard men's tennis team picked up a hard-fought 6-5 victory on the road at Indianola, securing the win through a balanced effort in singles and doubles play.
In singles action, Seth Hilleman led the way with an 8-2 win at No. 2, while Eli Preston followed with a dominant 8-1 victory at No. 3. Cameron Allen added another key point with an 8-4 win at No. 6, and Zack Ross battled to an 8-6 win at No. 4 to help secure the overall team result. Easton Ersland (No. 1) and Johannes Nop (No. 5) each fell in competitive matches.
In doubles play, Ballard picked up two crucial wins. The duo of Ersland and Ross earned an 8-5 victory, while Nop teamed with Aksel Peterson to win 8-2. Hilleman/Preston, Allen/Breken Fleischman, and Krogman/Dylong Marks each came up short in closely contested matches, but the overall depth proved enough to secure the team win.
With the victory, Ballard improves to 4-1 on the season.
The Bombers return to action on Thursday, April 16, hosting Newton and Nevada in a triangular beginning at 2:00 PM.
