Bombers Unable to Break Through in Substate Loss
Indianola Defeats Ballard 3-0
The Ballard men's soccer season came to a close on Wednesday night as the Bombers were defeated by Indianola 3–0 in a Class 2A substate semifinal matchup.
Despite a competitive effort throughout the match, Ballard was unable to break through against a disciplined Indianola side that struck twice in the first half and added an insurance goal in the second to seal the result.
Indianola set the tone early, applying pressure in the attacking third and capitalizing on scoring chances to take a 2–0 advantage into halftime. Ballard adjusted defensively in the second half and worked to slow the pace, but Indianola added a third goal to put the match out of reach.
Ballard finishes the season with a record of 7–11 overall and 5–3 in conference play. While the postseason run ends in the semifinal round, the Bombers showed resilience in league play and will look to build on that foundation moving forward.
