Strong Start Carries Bombers to Shutout Victory
Ballard Defeats Carroll 3-0
The Ballard Bombers men's soccer team put together a dominant first-half performance Thursday night, defeating Carroll 3-0 at home. Ballard wasted little time taking control, scoring all three of its goals in the opening half to build a commanding lead. The Bombers' aggressive attack and efficient finishing set the tone early, while the defense made sure the advantage held the rest of the way.
Rylan Martin led the charge offensively with two goals on two shots, delivering a clinical performance in front of net. Hayden Neer added another goal for the Bombers, while Nick Hiatt contributed an assist in the win. Ballard generated consistent opportunities throughout the match, finishing with 14 total shots and 11 on goal.
Despite a quieter second half offensively, Ballard remained in control, leaning on a strong defensive effort to secure the shutout. Goalkeeper Isaac Swisher was outstanding in net, recording nine saves and posting a perfect save percentage to preserve the clean sheet.
With the victory, the Bombers improve to 3-4-0 overall and 2-1-0 in conference play.
Ballard will be back in action Monday, April 20, when they host Winterset at 5:30 PM.
