Bomber's Soccer Splits RRC Matchups with Boone and Carroll
Ballard Falls To Boone; Defeats Carroll
The Ballard men's soccer team battled through back-to-back Raccoon River Conference matchups this week, falling just short in a tightly contested match against Boone before bouncing back with a strong win over Carroll.
On Wednesday, the Bombers hosted Boone and got off to a strong start, taking a 1-0 lead into halftime. However, Boone came out firing in the second half, scoring three goals to edge Ballard 3-2. Despite a late push from the Bombers, the comeback effort fell just short in the conference clash.
Ballard quickly regrouped and returned to the pitch Thursday night with a dominant first-half performance against Carroll. The Bombers exploded for four goals in the opening 40 minutes, building a commanding lead that helped carry them to a 4-1 victory. Carroll managed a goal in the second half, but Ballard's early offensive surge proved too much to overcome.
With the split, the Bombers move to 3-3-1 overall and 1-2 in Raccoon River Conference play.
Up Next: Ballard will hit the road Monday, April 21, for another RRC test at Winterset. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
