Balanced Lineup Leads the Way
Sophomore Jamin Colvin paced the Bombers with a two-day total of 148 (+4), finishing eighth individually in a field loaded with the state's best golfers. Colvin opened with an impressive 72 before carding a 76 in the final round to earn a top-10 finish.
Freshman Jordan Domino delivered one of the tournament's biggest day-two surges. After shooting an 82 on the opening day, Domino fired a team-best 73 in the final round, vaulting 25 spots up the leaderboard and finishing tied for 23rd overall at 155 (+11).
Senior Parker Domino provided steady scoring throughout the tournament, finishing tied for 29th with rounds of 78 and 78 for a 156 (+12).
Junior Riley Dingel also improved significantly on day two, shaving five strokes off his opening-round score with a 76 to finish tied for 31st at 157 (+13).
Sophomore Rowan Josephson rounded out Ballard's counting scores with rounds of 83 and 76, finishing tied for 40th at 159 (+15).
Senior Alex Weeks contributed to the championship effort as well, recording a two-day total of 160 (+16).
Championship Mentality
The Bombers' victory was not built on a single individual performance but rather on the strength of the entire lineup. Ballard placed five golfers inside the top 40 and saw several players improve dramatically during the final round.
J. Domino's 73, Dingel's 76, and Josephson's 76 helped spark the second-day charge that ultimately separated Ballard from the field. The team's ability to respond under pressure allowed the Bombers to fend off challenges from MOC-Floyd Valley and North Polk and secure the state crown.
A Championship Finish
While Nevada's Parker Rodgers claimed the individual state championship with a two-day score of 139 (-5), Ballard achieved the ultimate team goal, proving itself the most complete squad in Class 3A.
With a final score of 610 and a two-stroke victory over MOC-Floyd Valley, the Ballard Bombers are officially the 2026 Class 3A Boys State Golf Champions, adding another memorable chapter to the school's athletic history.
For a team that entered the final day tied for first, there was no backing down from the pressure. The Bombers answered every challenge, played their best golf when it mattered most, and walked off the course as state champions.
