Strong Team Scoring Lifts Bombers to Tournament Win
Ballard Shoots A 294
WATERLOO — The Ballard men's golf team turned in a strong, balanced performance Monday, capturing the team championship at the Waverly-Shell Rock Tournament held at Gates Park Golf Course.
The Bombers posted a team score of 294, edging runner-up North Polk (301) and finishing ahead of a tightly packed field that included Independence (310), Clear Lake (315), Decorah (316), Solon (319), Waverly-Shell Rock (329), and Humboldt (330).
Ballard's victory was fueled by a standout individual performance from Jamin Colvin, who fired a 70 to lead the team and finish near the top of the leaderboard. Close behind was Parker Domino, who carded a 71, while Alex Weeks added a 73 to help anchor the Bombers' scoring trio.
Depth also played a key role in the team win. Jordan Domino finished with an 81, Riley Dingel posted an 80, and Drake Hosteng rounded out the lineup with an 84, ensuring Ballard maintained its edge over a competitive field.
The Bombers return to action on Thursday, April 30, when they compete at the Webster City Tournament beginning at 1:00 PM.
