Bio
Coach Vespestad is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to teach in the community where he grew up. A native of Slater and a proud Ballard graduate, Coach Vespestad earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Iowa State University and his master’s degree in secondary education from Viterbo University.
He is now in his 28th year of teaching high school science and his 26th year at Ballard. Coach Vespestad currently teaches AP physics, AP chemistry, high school physics, and anatomy/physiology. He also serves as the co-head varsity football coach, head bowling coach, and middle school boys track coach.
His wife, Rachel, teaches 8th-grade science at Ballard Middle School, and they have two daughters who are both Ballard graduates.
In his spare time, Coach Vespestad enjoys spending time with his family, watching college football, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones and the New York Yankees.
