Bombers Post Strong Effort at HOR Bowling Tournament
Ballard Has Strong Showing
The Ballard men's bowling team turned in a strong showing at the Heart of the Raccoon Conference Bowling Tournament, hosted by Gilbert at Perfect Games in Ames, competing against a deep field of conference opponents.
Ballard opened the day with consistent performances in individual games, highlighted by junior Kyler Johnson, who posted a team-best 592 series with games of 186, 200, and 206. Senior Braden Skurdal also rolled a 592 series, delivering steady games of 203, 203, and 186. Junior Carter Sparks followed closely with a 569 series, while senior Gage Tapp added a 587 series, including a high game of 216.
Senior Stetson Kane contributed a 548 series, and senior Drake Hosteng rounded out Ballard's individual scoring with a 526 series, giving the Bombers depth across the lineup.
In Baker team competition, Ballard totaled 2,690 pins over 15 games. The Bombers posted several strong Baker games, including scores of 219, 208, 205, and 201, showing the ability to string together quality frames throughout the rotation.
Ballard's efforts were further recognized with postseason honors, as junior Kyler Johnson was named First Team All-Conference, while senior Gage Tapp earned Second Team All-Conference honors.
The Bombers will return to Perfect Games on Monday, January 16, as they host the State Qualifying Meet beginning at 10:00 AM, with a spot at the state tournament on the line.
