Balanced Attack Powers Bombers Men’s Bowling Past Dutch
Ballard Defeats Pella 3009-2412
The Ballard men's bowling team turned in a dominant performance Saturday, defeating Pella 3009–2412 in a road matchup. The Bombers showcased depth and consistency across the lineup, placing four bowlers among the top five in total pinfall.
Junior Kyler Johnson led the way for Ballard, finishing with a match-high 440 series. Close behind was senior Gage Tapp, who posted a 439 series and delivered the highest individual game of the day with a 246. Senior Drake Hosteng added a strong 417 series, while junior Carter Sparks contributed 404 pins to round out a balanced team effort.
Ballard also controlled the high game standings, with Tapp, Hosteng, Johnson, Sparks, and Stetson Kane all posting games of 200 or better. Tapp's 246 highlighted a day in which Ballard bowlers consistently applied pressure throughout both games.
With the win, Ballard improves its record to 7–3 overall and 4–3 in conference play.
The Bombers will look to carry that momentum into the Heart of the Raccoon Conference Tournament on Sunday, February 9, in Ames. Competition is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM.
