Strong Nights from Johnson, Tapp Not Enough for Bombers
Bondurant-Farrar Defeats Ballard 2630-2587
The Ballard men's bowling team came up just short Tuesday night, falling to Bondurant-Farrar by a narrow margin, 2630–2587, in a competitive matchup. Despite the loss, the Bombers showed strong individual performances against one of the area's top lineups.
Junior Kyler Johnson led Ballard on the lanes, recording the meet's high game with a 216. Johnson finished with a 375 series, averaging 187.5 pins per game to place second overall in both series and average.
Senior Gage Tapp provided additional scoring depth for the Bombers, rolling a 368 series and a high game of 194. Tapp averaged 184.0 pins per game and consistently kept Ballard within striking distance throughout the meet.
Bondurant-Farrar was paced by senior Dakota Wilshire, who delivered a dominant performance with a meet-best 421 series and a 212 high game. Wilshire averaged 210.5 pins per game, helping the Bluejays build just enough separation to hold off Ballard late. Rohen Lovell added a 371 series, while Travis Jurgensen chipped in 357 to round out Bondurant-Farrar's top scorers.
Ballard's efforts were not enough to overcome Bondurant-Farrar's depth, as the Bombers fell by 43 pins in the final tally.
With the result, Ballard moves to 3-8 overall and 2-2 in conference play. The Bombers will look to bounce back on Thursday, January 15, when they travel to Nevada for a 4:00 PM meet.
