Cardinals Roll Past Bombers
Newton Defeats Ballard 3144-2640
The Ballard men's bowling team ran into a formidable Newton squad on the road, falling 3144-2640 in conference action. Despite the loss, the Bombers had solid performances from senior Brenden Wright, who led the team with a 428 series, including a high game of 222. Junior Gage Tapp also put together a strong showing, rolling a 402 series.
Newton controlled the match behind freshman Parker Kennedy's 451 series and senior Ethan Valtman's 445, with Valtman also posting the day's highest game at 246. Gentry Swarts (415 series) and Austin Kennedy (213 high game) rounded out the Cardinals' dominant effort.
With the defeat, Ballard drops to 6-4 overall and 6-3 in conference play. The Bombers will look to get back on track when they host Oskaloosa on February 7 at 2:30 PM in their final home meet of the season.
