Explosive Third Quarter Fuels Bombers Past Tigers
#2 Ballard Defeats Gilbert 82-46
The Ballard men's basketball team turned a close start into a commanding 82–46 road victory at Gilbert on Tuesday night, using explosive offense and sustained pressure to pull away over the final three quarters.
Gilbert held a 12–8 lead after the opening period, but Ballard responded quickly in the second quarter. The Bombers outscored the Tigers 20–9 to take a 28–21 advantage into halftime, setting the tone for the rest of the night.
Ballard took full control after the break, pouring in 28 points in the third quarter while limiting Gilbert to 11. The Bombers continued to stretch the lead in the fourth, adding 26 more points to cap a dominant second half performance.
Ballard finished with 82 points on the night, scoring consistently in transition and the half court while wearing down Gilbert defensively.
With the win, Ballard improves to 15–1 overall and 12–1 in conference play.
The Bombers return home on Friday, February 6, to host Carroll at 7:30 PM for Senior Night.
