Men's Basketball Pulls Away Late to Defeat Tigers
Ballard Defeats Gilbert 78-66
The Ballard men's basketball team continued its strong start to the season Friday night, using a dominant fourth quarter to secure a 78–66 victory over Gilbert during winter break play.
Ballard held a slim 19–18 lead after the first quarter and carried a one-point advantage into halftime at 35–34. The teams remained locked in a tight battle through the third quarter, with both sides scoring 17 points and setting up a decisive final period.
The Bombers took control in the fourth quarter, outscoring Gilbert 26–14 behind improved defensive pressure and efficient offense. The late surge allowed Ballard to pull away and close out the win.
With the victory, Ballard improves to 7–0 overall and 6–0 in conference play, continuing an undefeated start to the season.
