Bombers Roll Past Comets in Home Win
Ballard Defeats North Polk 74-35
The Ballard men's basketball team delivered a complete performance Friday night, cruising past North Polk 74–35. The Bombers set the tone early and never let up, improving to 4–0 overall and 3–0 in conference play.
Ballard jumped out to a commanding lead in the opening quarter, outscoring North Polk 27–6 with aggressive defense and efficient shooting. The Bombers continued to control the game in the second quarter, taking a 45–13 advantage into halftime and effectively putting the contest out of reach.
Balanced scoring and defensive pressure highlighted the night for Ballard. Evan Abbott led all scorers with 21 points, knocking down four three-pointers and shooting better than 58 percent from the field. Jude Gibson followed with 18 points, four assists, and strong activity on both ends of the floor. Dillon Shoen added 10 points, while Parker Miller contributed seven points along with three rebounds and three steals.
Ballard shot 52 percent from the field and 46 percent from three-point range, moving the ball well and finishing with 12 assists on 26 made baskets. Defensively, the Bombers forced 13 steals and limited North Polk to just 35 points for the game, holding the Comets to single-digit scoring in two of the four quarters.
The depth of the Bombers was also on display, with multiple players contributing on the scoreboard and defensively as Ballard maintained its intensity throughout the game.
Ballard will look to keep its unbeaten start intact on Tuesday, December 16, when the Bombers travel to Carlisle for a 7:30 PM tipoff.
