Bombers Hold Off Huskies in Non-Conference Battle
#4 Ballard Defeats Des Moines Hoover 58-51
DES MOINES, IA – The Ballard men's basketball team continued its strong season with a hard-fought 58-51 road victory over Des Moines Hoover in a non-conference matchup Tuesday night.
The Bombers (17-1, 14-1) set the tone early, jumping out to a 15-7 lead after the first quarter behind efficient offense and tenacious defense. Hoover responded with a competitive second quarter, but Ballard maintained control, taking a 24-19 advantage into the half.
A strong third quarter saw the Bombers stretch their lead, outscoring the Huskies 17-11 to go up by 11 heading into the final frame. Hoover made a late push in the fourth, putting up 21 points, but Ballard remained composed down the stretch to secure the win.
The Bombers will return home on Friday, February 14, to host Winterset in the conference season finale. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
