Bombers Battle Past Tigers for Road Victory
#4 Ballard Defeats Carroll 64-54
The #4 Ballard men's basketball team picked up another Raccoon River Conference win on Friday night, defeating Carroll 64-54 in a hard-fought road matchup. A strong second-half push helped Ballard secure the victory and improve to 15-1 overall (14-1 in conference play).
Senior Jackson Brown led the way for the Bombers, scoring 18 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting, including three three-pointers. Junior Jude Gibson added 15 points while going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Sophomore Parker Miller controlled the boards with eight rebounds while also dishing out seven assists.
Carroll took an early 12-10 lead after the first quarter, but Ballard responded with a 16-10 second quarter to take a four-point advantage into halftime. The Bombers continued to build momentum in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 38-32 after the break to seal the win.
The Bombers looks to continue their strong season on Tuesday, February 11, when they travel to Des Moines Hoover for a 4:45 PM tip-off.
