The Ballard men's basketball team continued their unbeaten streak with an impressive 76-60 victory over #12-ranked Gilbert in a Raccoon River Conference showdown. The Bombers improved to 7-0 on the season and 6-0 in conference play with the win.
Gilbert opened the game with a narrow 17-14 lead after the first quarter, but Ballard found its rhythm in the second, outscoring the Tigers 21-17 to take a slim 35-34 advantage into halftime. The Bombers took control in the third quarter, limiting Gilbert to just 9 points while adding 16 of their own. A dominant 25-point fourth quarter sealed the victory as Ballard pulled away to secure the 16-point win.
Ballard's balanced scoring and defensive pressure proved too much for the Tigers.
The Bombers will look to continue their winning ways on Tuesday, January 7, when they host Carroll in another Raccoon River Conference contest. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
