Late Score Sinks Bombers In District Opener
Indianola Defeats Ballard 30-27
An Indianola touchdown with 3 minutes remaining in the game sparked the Indians to a 30-27 win over the Bombers on Friday night.
Eli Rouse led the ground game rushing for 100 yards on 28 carries and three touchdowns. Mason Gatchel was 8 of 12 through the air passing for 144 yards and one touchdown. Chance Lande grabbed five catches for 72 yards and a score.
Defensively, Jackson Wacha and Brody Sampson each had eight tackles on the night. Sampson also had a fumble recovery. Jakson Fleischmann and Rhett Hedrick each had seven tackles.
With the loss, the Bombers fall to 2-3 (0-1) on the season.
The Bombers are back in action on Friday - September 29 when they host North Polk in district play. The game will kick off at 7:00 PM.
