Wildcats Claw Past Bombers
Humboldt Defeats Ballard 14-13
The Ballard football team dropped a 14-13 contest on Humboldt on Friday night in their home opener at Richard Strouse Field.
Eli Rouse had 156 yards on 25 carries and a touchdown. Mason Gatchel was 6 of 18 passing for 40 yards. Three of those completions were to Jude Gibson who had three catches for 25 yards.
Jackson Wacha had nine tackles on the night and Rhett Hedrick had 7.5.
Gibson opened up the game with a 95 yard kick off return to open up the scoring for the Bombers.
With the loss, the Bombers fall to 1-1 (0-0) on the season.
The Bombers are back in action on Friday - September 8 when they travel to Creston in non-district action. The freshman game will kick off at 4:15 PM and the varsity will kick off at 7:00 PM.
