Bombers Ramp Up Offense In Win Over Bulldogs
Ballard Defeats Algona 35-19
The Ballard football team had a strong offensive showing defeating Algona 35-19 on Friday night. The Bombers set the tone early provided by a long touchdown run by Eli Rouse and the Bombers would never look back. Rouse finished with 21 carries for 151 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw for a 37 yard touchdown. Running mate, Gabe Christensen, ran for 71 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.
Luke Hartsook was 10 for 16 for 142 yards and a touchdown. Hartsook utilized four different receivers on the night (Rouse - 2 rec. 16 yards, Christensen - 1 rec. 3 yards, Jakson Fleischmann 4 rec. 64 yards 1 TD, Chance Lande 4 rec. 96 yards 1 TD).
Jackson Wacha led the Bomber's defense recording 10.5 tackles. Jayden Swain had 7.5 tackles and Christensen had 6.5. Caleb Sparks recovered a fumble and Lande had an interception that he returned for 14 yards.
With the win, the Bombers improve to 2-6 (1-3) on the season.
The Bombers are back in action on Friday - October 21 when they host Gilbert in their season finale district game. The game will kick off at 7:00 PM.
