Bombers Pick Up DH Wins
Ballard Defeats Grinnell 11-1, 6-1
The Ballard baseball team picked up a couple of wins over Grinnell on Friday night.
In game #1, the Bombers used a combination of offense and defense to secure the win over the Tigers. Jaden Peasley started for the Bombers going five innings and allowing one run giving up two hits. He struck out seven on the night.
Nicolas Schonhorst, Peasley, and Jaren Njos each had two hits on the night. Jacob Luster drove in three. Peasley, Miles Mudd, and Njos each drove in two.
In game #2, the Bombers picked up where they left off in the first game. The Bombers would grab two early runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. The Bombers would tack on three more in the sixth to push the lead to 6-1 which would be the final score.
Miles Mudd started game #2 and went six strong innings. He allowed one run on one hit striking out five.
With the wins, the Bombers improve to 3-1 (0-0) on the season.
The Bombers are back in action on Monday, May 22 when they host Bondurant-Farrar. The junior varsity will start at 5:30 PM followed by the varsity.
