Bombers and Tigers Support The Cause - Bombers Win
Ballard Defeats Carroll 16-1
The Ballard baseball team picked up their second win of the week with a 16-1 dismantling of the Carroll Tigers Wednesday night at Nite Hawk Field in Slater. Nic Edwards picked up the victory for the Bombers. Sam Petersen powered a two run homer to supply some offensive punch to the Bomber's line-up. Before the game, the Ballard and Carroll Baseball teams raised $2,500 and donated it to the Bliss Cancer Center of Ames in the Strike Out Cancer Campaign. The money will be used for cancer research.
With the win, the Bombers improve to 7-6 (2-2) on the season.
The Bombers are back in action on Friday - June 15 when they travel to Boone in a Raccoon River Conference match-up. The junior varsity will start at 5:30 PM and the varsity will start at 7:30 PM.
